Ballet Intermediate Level

Dance training for personal skill development and interest. Theory and practice of ballet at the intermediate level.

Prerequisites: DAN134PA or permission of Department or Division.

 

Course Notes: Course is not intended for dance majors. DAN231PA may be repeated for a total of one (1) credit hour.

Demonstrate correct placement and alignment for ballet. (I, II, III)

Use basic locomotor and axial movements at the barre, in center, and across the floor. (I, II, III, IV)

Utilize correct components of ballet technique, theories, and styles. (I, II, III, IV, V)

4.

Utilize the theory of the body's relationship to gravity and the center of gravity used in ballet. (I, II, III, IV, V)

5.

Practice the basic elements of dance: space, time and energy. (IV)
