Applied EKG

Entry-level training to professionally perform, process, and explain the electrocardiogram. Overview of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and conduction systems. Overview of commonly encountered drugs in cardiac medicine. Data collection, selection, processing, and presentation for the appropriate medical/clinical professional to review. Selected specific non-invasive cardiac testing procedures.

Prerequisites: Acceptance into the Medical Assisting or Patient Care Technician program, or permission of Program Director. Corequisites: HCC130 and (HCC145AA, or HCC145AA, HCC145AB, and HCC145AC), or permission of Program Director.
