Medical Assisting Program Review
Preparation for the medical assisting national certification examinations. Topics include medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, medical records management, appointment scheduling, law and ethics, insurance billing and coding, medication administration, electrocardiography, patient assessment, asepsis, clinical procedures, and laboratory techniques and values.
Prerequisites: (HCE102, HCE110, HCE162, HCE167, HCE221, HCE222, HCE226, HCE227, BPC/HCE229, HCE251, and HCE261) or (current employment with a minimum of one year's experience as a Medical Assistant) or permission of Program Director. Corequisites: (HCE274 and HCE275) or equivalent.
