Secondary Methods and Curriculum Development
Overview and practical application of teaching methodology and curriculum development for secondary education teachers. Teaching strategies and learning styles covered. Curriculum design, lesson objectives, time management skills, teaching resources and student assessments also included. Arizona State Board of Education Professional Teaching Standards emphasized, includes 15 hours field experience. Prerequisites: Baccalaureate Degree and EDU272.
 
Course Note:Requires fifteen (15) hours of field experience in an elementary or secondary classroom environment. The proposed courses have been reviewed by the Arizona Department of Education, the State Board of Education and the Office of Superintendent for Public Instruction. The courses cover all of the state standards. The content of the courses prepares the student to apply for state teaching certification. A Bachelors degree is also required for this certification.
