Field-based experiences relating to the understanding of and teaching strategies for exceptional learners with emotional disabilities. Provides opportunities for students to apply learning in the classroom. Prerequisites: Baccalaureate Degree and EDU223AA.

1. Create and maintain professional and productive personal relationships with emotionally disabled learners. (I)
2. Use interviews, observations, and file review to collect and report data in the completion of behavioral assessments and academic study. (II)
3. Demonstrate knowledge of formal and informal assessment of emotionally disabled learners. (III)
4. Design Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for emotionally disabled learners in collaboration with other educators. (IV)
5. Plan, teach, and evaluate individual and group lessons for emotionally disabled learners. (V)
6. Design, implement, and evaluate behavior management plans for emotionally disabled learners. (VI)
7. Design, implement, and evaluate individualized transition plans for emotionally disabled learners. (VII)
8. Demonstrate interpersonal collaborative skills with colleagues and other strategic partners in the education of emotionally disabled learners. (VIII)
9. Cite the community and other academic resources available to students and professionals in the field of special education. (IX)
