Participation in early childhood education related work experience for the purpose of final preparation for the Child Development Associate (CDA) national credential process.
Prerequisites: (CFS178, or CFS194AB, or CFS192, or CFS193), and (ECH287, or CFS/ECH278, or ECH215, or CFS196), and ECH270, and (CFS/ECH176 or CFS205).

        A. Describe and apply federal, state, and/or local health, safety, and program regulations required for obtaining and maintaining a childcare facility
        B. List and describe various staff positions.
        C. Identify methods of staffing in childcare settings
        D. Identify types of funding available for childcare
        E. Prepare a sample budget for a childcare setting
      II. Commitment to profession
          A. Describe the emerging profession in early childhood education and compare it to other professions within contemporary society
          B. Identify and describe the significance of current issues which challenge early childhood education professionals and families with children today
          C. Describe the ethical obligations, interests, and responsibilities of the early childhood field
        III. Observation of children's behavior
            A. Identify and explain a variety of strategies used to objectively observe children
            B. Use a variety of strategies to objectively observe children
            C. Identify and describe the use of observational records in working with young children in varied settings
          IV. Child growth and development
