Insulators' union history, significance and benefits. Successful and efficient labor relations. Insulation in relation to other construction trades. Safe and proper use of hand and power tools. Safe work habits, job site safety and first aid. Advanced first aid. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety training and regulations. Prerequisites: None.

1. Discuss the significance of unions in labor relations today, its history and benefits. (I)
2. Identify components of successful and effective labor relations including contract negotiation, management, and code of workmanship responsibilities. (II)
3. Discuss insulation and its role in specific types of construction. (III)
4. Demonstrate safe and proper use of hand and power tools, and equipment of the insulation trade. (IV)
5. Demonstrate safe work habits and maintain safe conditions on the job site. (V)
6. Demonstrate the basic concepts for First Aid. (VI)
7. Demonstrate advanced concepts for First Aid including: medical emergencies and the moving and rescuing of victims. (VII)
