Dental Hygiene Clinic II
Application of the dental hygiene process of care with emphasis on comprehensive care planning, case presentation, clinical decision making, advanced instrumentation and improved time utilization. Prerequisites: DHE132 and DHE133 and admission to the Dental Hygiene Program. Corequisites: DHE212.

1. Prepare and present comprehensive dental hygiene care plans for clinic patients. (I)
2. Integrate problem solving strategies to enroll clients as co- therapists in oral disease prevention and treatment. (II)
3. Maintain instrument sharpness. (III)
4. Detect and remove moderate calculus deposits on patients with slight to moderate periodontitis. (III)
5. Provide dental hygiene therapy for patients from diverse populations with emphasis on adult and geriatric patients. (III)
6. Select and apply chemotherapeutic agents. (III)
7. Assess and administer pain control agents as indicated. (III)
8. Assess and perform margination procedures for clinic patients. (III)
9. Analyze the outcomes of dental hygiene therapy. (IV)
10. Maintain complete and accurate records of all clinic procedures. (V)
11. Demonstrate professional conduct consistent with the American Dental Hygienists' Association (ADHA) Code of Ethics. (V)
