Court Reporting - Sustained Writing
Principles of machine shorthand to include definitions, brief forms and phrases. Sustained dictation of question and answer/multi-voice testimony. Sustained dictation with writing speed of 160-200 words per minute. Prerequisites: CTR202AC or permission of department.

1. Demonstrate knowledge of machine shorthand principles, including brief forms of phrases. (I)
2. Identify on machine up to four different speakers in a courtroom or deposition setting. (II)
3. Locate specific portions of testimony in shorthand notes. (II)
4. Write machine shorthand for an extended period of time with speeds of 160 to 200 word per minute. (II)
