Computer-Aided Transcription
Computer terminology, trouble-shooting and basic maintenance of a computer-aided transcription (CAT) system. Real-time reporting system set-up, maintenance and operation. Real-time system applications in specific environments. Production of transcripts from dictation and with a computer-aided transcription system. Prerequisites: CTR101 or permission of department/division.

8. Describe the role of the real-time reporter. (VIII)
9. Describe real-time translation system applications in specific environments to include computer -integrated courtroom (CIC), depositions, classrooms, seminars, conferences, and broadcasts. (IX)
10. Describe litigation support and its role in the judicial system. (X)
11. Describe the use of video equipment in trials and depositions. (XI)
12. Produce a ten-page, salable transcript with the use of computer-aided transcription system. (XII)
13. Produce a five-page, first pass transcript with an accuracy of 95% translation rate. (XIII)
