Basic system management tasks using Digital UNIX. Other UNIX systems also covered in lecture. Lab exercises done on Digital UNIX and/or Solaris UNIX. Topics include: installing and operating system, imaging files, configuring peripherals, security, monitoring system performance, networking with TCP/IP, troubleshooting problems.
