1. Identify uses of landscape plants according to physical, visual, economic and psychological benefits as well as costs. (I)
2. Describe suitable of planting sites as influenced by climate, soil, and site preparation. (II)
3. Explain procedures for propagating, producing, selecting, and transplanting specific kinds of plants. (III)
4. Explain relationships among soil, nutrients, plants, and correct nutritional deficiencies. (IV)
5. Explain water use by plants, and determine when and how much to irrigate. (V)
6. Demonstrate methods of pruning and specific types of plants. (VI)
7. Use common preventive maintenance practices such as cabling and bracing, etc. (VII)
8. Identify plant problems and recommend steps to correct problems. (VIII)
