Budgeting, Scheduling and Estimating
Calculating direct and indirect labor costs. Calculating material requirements and costs for concrete and forming materials for footings, walls, slabs, beams, columns and stairs. Completing recapitulation sheets. Prerequisites: (Indentured status with the Arizona Concrete Contractors Association) or permission of the apprenticeship coordinator.

1. Given cost data, calculate direct and indirect labor costs on a specific concrete construction project and explain each cost component. (I)
2. Given material and labor cost data, calculate total cost for completion of a specific concrete construction project. (II)
3. Explain the importance of proper work scheduling and the impact of not meeting scheduled production dates. (III)
4. With a given set of dimensions, calculate the amount of concrete, in cubic yards, required for a building's footings and foundation. (IV)
5. Given a set of dimensions, calculate the amount of concrete, in cubic yards, required for a building's walls. (V)
6. With a given set of dimensions, calculate the amount of concrete, in cubic yards, required for specific slabs, beams, columns and stairs. (VI)
7. Given a specific set of dimensions, calculate amount of forming material, in square feet, required for footings, walls, slabs, beams, columns and stairs. (VII)
8. With a given set of dimensions, calculate the amount of bracing, snap ties and walers required for a concrete foundation wall. (VIII)
9. Using current material costs and labor rates, complete a recapitulation sheet for a specific concrete project. (IX)
