Studio course focusing on the urban experience as subject,
symbol, and influence in creative writing. Prewriting, writing, analysis,
evaluation, and revision of creative writing generated from an exploration of
the urban experience. Prerequisites: HUM125 or permission of Instructor.

Use several discovery and prewriting techniques to draft
creative writing in genres of the student's choice. (I) |

Produce a sample of creative writing generated from an
exploration of the urban experience. (III) |

Analyze and evaluate writing by fellow students,
professional writers, and oneself. (IV) |

Use several revision techniques to develop and improve
one's writing. (V) |

Submit a
portfolio, in the appropriate manuscript form, of creative writing generated
