Writing Studio Workshop II: Journeys and Excursions

Studio course focusing on creating and writing through the use of journeys, real and imagined; prewriting, writing, analysis, evaluation, and revision of writing in several genres.

Prerequisites: Acceptance to the Creative Writing program or permission of the Program Coordinator.

Writing Studio Workshop II: Journeys and Excursions

 

1.

Use several discovery and prewriting techniques to draft a creative work using journeys. (I)

2.

Describe and identify the primary elements of journeys. (II)

3.

Produce writing that effectively uses elements of the journey. (III)

4.

Analyze and evaluate use of the journey by fellow students, by professional writers, and of the student's own. (IV)

5.

Use several revision techniques to develop and improve the student's own writing. (V)

6.

Submit a portfolio of writing that effectively uses elements of the journey and is in the appropriate manuscript form. (VI)
