Studio course focusing on writing with the writer as witness of the world; prewriting, writing, analysis, evaluation, and revision of writing in several genres. Prerequisites: Acceptance to the Creative Writing program or permission of the program coordinator.

1. Use several discovery and prewriting techniques to draft writing with the writer as witness. (I)
2. Describe and identify the primary elements of the use of the writer as witness in writing. (II)
3. Produce writing that effectively uses elements of the writer as witness. (III)
4. Analyze and evaluate the use of the writer as witness by fellow students, by professional writers, and of the student's own. (IV)
5. Use several revision techniques to develop and improve the student's own use of the writer as witness in writing. (V)
6. Submit a portfolio of writing that effectively uses elements of the writer as witness and is in the appropriate manuscript form. (VI)
