The fundamental procedures for identification, collection and preservation of evidence in a criminal investigation with emphasis on protecting, processing, sketching, and photographing the crime scene; questioning of witnesses and suspects and recording their information; and the constitutional and judicial restrictions that apply to criminal investigations.
