Career and Technical Education: Principles and Practices of Cooperative Education Programs

Examines high school cooperative education programs. Emphasis on state and federal youth employment laws, work-based learning principles, work-place standards, and criteria related to career and technical education cooperative programs.

Prerequisites: None.

 

Course Notes: Coursework intended for Arizona Department of Education Provisionally certified Career and Technical Education instructors.

4.        Identify equity and diversity issues that impact the classroom and the workplace. (IV)

5.        Explain employability skills that are necessary for student success in cooperative education programs. (V)

6.        Examine interview skills necessary for successful student job placement. (VI)

7.        Identify time and labor employment standards. (VII)

8.        Explain the responsibilities of the Career and Technical Education instructor in their role as the work-based learning coordinator. (VIII)

9.        Identify work-based safety standards as mandated by state and federal law. (IX)

10.      Describe funding sources for cooperative education programs. (X)
