Modeling, Rendering and Animation for Technical Presentations
Intermediate course in technical modeling, visualization, and animation. Uses Discreet's 3D Studio's software suite of modeling, rendering and animation tools to visualize and solve design issues. Development of professional quality presentation materials for design projects. Prerequisites: ART/MMT184 or (ART/MMT184AA, AR/MMT184AB, ART/MMT184AC and CAD215) or permission of instructor.

1. Apply intermediate and advanced modeling methods and techniques for the construction of 3-D models. (I)
2. Construct complex models using one or more object modifier operations. (II)
3. Apply material properties and maps to complex objects and create advanced materials for specific applications. (III)
4. Compose software presentations by employing objects, materials, lighting, environmental effects, and rendering. (III, IV)
5. Demonstrate ability to modify shape appearance through the use of lights and camera angles. (III, IV)
6. Animate a project by doing either a walk through or a fly over. (V)
7. Create professional quality renderings and video clips from 3-D modeling projects. (VI)
